Baggedmilk on #theLOCKERROOM: The Stanley Cup has been awarded now bring on the trades

3 months agoHappy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we got started with a quick look at the Stanley Cup Finals that wrapped up last night, and whether or not there’s any peace in knowing that the Oilers lost to the Cup champions for the second year in a row. For me, there is nothing comforting about watching a team win that I still think the Oilers could have beaten. If anything, it makes me angrier. Changing gears, we looked at Derek Ryan’s new two-year contract that carries a $900K AAV and how it was a solid move by the team to lock in a quality depth piece at a discount. Now the question will become how Derek Ryan can keep his level of play up since he’s not getting any younger. Sticking with free agents, Grant wanted to start a rumour to bring Phil Kessel to town after the longtime veteran just locked in his third Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights. If you know me, I want Kessel to be an Oiler last year for the entertainment value alone so I’m all in on this fake rumour that started on The Lockerroom. Finally, we had to do a quick check-in on Jimmy after seeing that his face is all banged up as a result of a drinking injury. Needless to say, our boy goes hard.
