Two more Edmonton Oilers players have been added to COVID-19 protocols: Warren Foegele and Tyler Benson.
The team’s Monday game against the Ottawa Senators has also been pushed back to next Saturday, the team announced.
Our own Baggedmilk reported yesterday the postponement was to be expected.
On Saturday, the Oilers added five players and six staffers to the protocols list in Kailer Yamamoto, Evan Bouchard, Brendan Perlini, Ilya Konovalov and Slater Koekkoek. They joined Connor McDavid, Derek Ryan and Tyson Barrie, who entered protocols Tuesday and Wednesday.
In total, 18 Oilers players have entered protocols since Dec. 14: Ryan McLeod, Devin Shore, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Duncan Keith, Jesse Puljujarvi, Darnell Nurse, William Lagesson, Zack Kassian, as well as the aforementioned players.
For the Oilers, there’s now a small list of players who haven’t been in protocols since Nov. 30: Leon Draisaitl, Zach Hyman, Colton Sceviour, Kyle Turris, Kris Russell, Mike Smith, Mikko Koskinen, and AHL callups in Markus Niemalainen, Philip Broberg, Dmitry Samorukov and Stuart Skinner.
