Merry Christmas, Everybody!

I wanted to jump on the site really quickly this morning and wish everybody a very Merry Christmas from all of us here at Oilersnation. I hope that all of you are enjoying the day as best you possibly can under the strange circumstances we’ve all been trapped in over the last couple of years. I know it’s been weird having the world open up, then close, then open up again and I know many of us thought this whole thing would be over by now, but that doesn’t change the fact that I still wanted to knock out a few words just to say hi and let you all know how much I appreciate the support you’ve shown us over the last year and beyond.
No matter what’s happening for you on this frosty Christmas morning, I hope everyone reading this is able to spend the day doing whatever it is that makes you happen, even if that means telling me off on the Christmas post. Whether you’re able to spend time with your family or forced to do another Zoom thing again this year, I wanted to make sure that I started the day with a quick note wishing you and your family well regardless of how you’re spending the day. Needless to say, these last couple of years have been unbelievably strange but being able to talk about the Oilers with all of you has always felt normal regardless of what’s happening in the world. Sure, we may argue about contracts or line combinations or what changes need to be made in the organization, and it’s not at all abnormal to shake one’s head at what’s going on in the comments section, but no matter what, the site continues to grow year over year and that only happens because of the incredible community that surrounds it. To put it another way, you incredible citizens are the straw that stirs the drink around these parts and I wanted to make sure to recognize it this morning. You’re all the best and I mean it.
Now, with the sappiness out of the way, please excuse me while I go make a fresh pot of coffee, kill my bottle of Baileys, and go watch Die Hard because it is absolutely a Christmas movie. Have a wonderful day off, Nation! I hope that everyone is able to enjoy a break from real life and that your day off is spent exactly as you want it to. Merry Christmas, everybody!
