Ryan Nugent-Hopkins was noticeably absent from the Oilers’ first practice back in North America on Monday. In his place on the top line was extra forward Drake Caggiula, but Jason Gregor reports that Nugent-Hopkins is expected to be ready for Edmonton’s game against the Bruins in Boston on Thursday.

According to the Bakersfield Condors’ Twitter account, Ethan Bear and Shane Starrett’s tour of duty with the Oilers has come to an end, at least for now. After returning from Europe and landing in Boston, both players were added back to the Condors’ active roster today.

One of the many ongoing questions we had throughout this summer was how our goaltender prospects were going to be handled. Sure, this may not be as pressing news as the Jason Garrison signing earlier, but with the recently added goaltenders at this years draft, I have been waiting patiently for this news.
October 1st, 1999 will forever be remembered as the day the greatest player to ever play the game of hockey had his jersey retired by the Edmonton Oilers.
