McDavid and Colaiacovo mic’d up at Power Edge Pro camp

Connor McDavid’s offseason training continues this week at the Power Edge Pro camp, and TSN posted some great video of the Oilers’ captain having some fun while wearing a mic with former NHLer, Carlo Colaiacovo. Needless to say, Colaiacovo could be one of Connor’s biggest fans.

If there’s one thing that I’ll never get tired of it’s watching Connor McDavid do his thing. I don’t care if that ‘thing’ is during a game or in practice, because the magic he makes with his skates and stick is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Frankly, the tape looks like it’s in slow motion because the dude has wheels unlike anyone else and that becomes apparent when you hear Colaiacovo pump his tires throughout.

I promise that it’ll be worth your time to spend a couple of minutes watching this video.

Now that you’ve all watch the video, there are a couple things I want to point out.

1) Carlo Colaiacovo played 470 NHL games and he’s talking about Connor in a way that makes me think he’s just as big of a fan as I am.

2) I want to thank Brian and Kelly McDavid for giving Connor a spot to stickhandle and work on his hands as a kid because those magic mitts of his are a gift. How he figured out to speed up the wiring between his brain and hands is a mystery to us mere mortals, but it’s fascinating to watch and makes me warm in the bathing suit region.

3) Connor needs to put a quarter in the swear jar. It’s okay, though, I’ll take care of it just this once.

BM, I’ve been having technical issues with this site for a while now. The ads constantly start playing videos with sound and I can’t even find the video in order to pause or stop it or mute it. Its just like audio from a commercial with no video (although I’m sure the video is somewhere).

Its starting to make the site almost unusable for me, I have to mute the audio on my computer whenever I’m on it/

      • Hey guys, those ads are very annoying and we’re working with a third party firm to try and get rid of the problem as soon as humanly possible. We’ve also partnered up with some other sizeable websites that are having the same issue to try and work together to get this thing handled. Obviously, we need to make some cash to keep the lights on but annoying people with the auto-play ads is not something that we want. Thanks for your patience on this and know that we’re working hard to get rid of that crap.

    • It’s on the wishlist but not a priority right now. We’re relaunching Hockey Fights right away and then it’s back to upgrading NHL Numbers. I wouldn’t say it won’t happen but I can say not likely any time soon. Dev is super expensive and we need those dudes prioritizing. Probably not a popular answer by me but I do want to be honest.
