Inside the Nation: Koskinen’s glove hand, Matt Benning, and the Oilers playoff hopes

We’re in Vegas but Dustin Nielson is still producing video content in Edmonton!

I’m writing this recap from the Las Vegas airport right now and we’re about to board our flight back to Edmonton. The #NationVacation was fantastic and we can’t wait to do it again soon. Anyways, back to Dusty:

With two big games this weekend, Dusty had a ton to talk about. His topics included a recap of the loss to the Golden Knights last night and Mikko Koskinen’s glove hand. Mikko’s obviously been struggling with that glove hand lately so Dusty gets into it a bit and responds to some comments from our live viewers.

More topics included the play of Matt Benning and what the Oilers are going to do with him moving forward. Dusty also talks about Tyler Benson’s play and when we’re going to see him in the Oilers lineup over the next few years. Nielson also reads a trivia question and gives away a Get Sauced sample pack to one lucky winner!

Finally, Dustin Nielson also talks about where he thinks the Oilers are in the playoff race, and when he thought it all went wrong. As always, he finished with the most important question of the day.

Oiler fans harp on Benning but he is a team best +13 and scores the odd goal. Larsson is a team worst -21 and doesn’t score. Sure he’s out against tougher competition but he can’t handle it. He’s a top 4 dman at best. Benning is fine as the 6th dman for now.
