Saturday night without hockey is a weird and strange place to be, but thankfully, Sportsnet will be replaying some classic games tonight to try and fill the void. In the late slot, they’ve got round three of the Battle of Alberta from January 11th on deck which was the first time Kassian and Tkachuk met up for some shenanigans in Calgary. Will you be watching? I certainly will be.

***CORRECTION*** I’m an idiot… We were down in Calgary for this game when Kassian threw hands at Tkachuk as he went full turtle, leading to a two-game suspension for the Oilers forward.
Despite everyone knowing how this game played out, I still wanted to put something together so that anyone who watches this game had a place to chat about it. At the time, both teams were tied with 57 points and that made this game not only important in terms of the Pacific Division standings but also in terms of settling a few scores. Even though we’re talking about a re-run, it might still be pretty fun to relive the night and the emotion that was running through both teams and the building in general. Besides, maybe watching the game for a second time will allow you to notice something that you didn’t get to see the first time around. Either way, I just think it’s important to try and add as much normalcy into our lives as we possibly can seeing as nothing that’s going on feels normal at all.
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s game day! Kinda.
