2023 NHL Awards Primer: It’s going to be a big night for Connor McDavid

1 year agoConnor McDavid is going to add some more hardware to his trophy case on Monday night.
He’ll be awarded with the Rocket Richard Trophy and the Art Ross Trophy for leading the league in goals and points and he’s expected to take home the third Hart Trophy and the fourth Ted Lindsay Award of his career.
The Edmonton Oilers also have a couple of other players who are nominated for awards. Goaltender Stuart Skinner could become the first Oiler ever to win the Calder Trophy for the league’s best rookie while Darnell Nurse is up for the King Clancy Memorial Award for leadership and humanitarian work.
Below are the awards that are being handed out on Monday night and those who are finalists…
Hart Trophy
Awarded annually to the NHL player voted most valuable to his team by the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association.

King Clancy Memorial Trophy
Awarded annually to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution to his community. The winner is chosen by select members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association and the NHL Broadcasters’ Association.

Jim Gregory General Manager of the Year Award
