Alberta to hold online 50/50 raffle during Stanley Cup finals

Get your computers ready, Albertans, because a 50/50 raffle is coming soon to a website near you.

In fact, it’s the Edmonton Oilers foundation who is once again hosting an online 50/50 raffle. With the Edmonton Oilers out of the playoff picture, another raffle will be held during the Stanley Cup finals.

“Oilers fans showed generosity and passion for the EOCF online 50/50 raffle when it launched on Aug. 1, setting a new record total of $762,550,” said the foundation in a statement.

“The total jackpots continued to grow at unprecedented rates and new record totals were set, leading to the current record jackpot on Aug. 7 that reached $14,176,850.”

Raffles will open at 9 a.m. MST on game days in the cup finals and will be drawn at approximately 8:30 p.m. MST the night of the raffle. The winning number will then be posted online at edmontonoilers.com/5050 no later than 6 p.m. MST the following day.

Only those 18 and older within the Alberta provincial borders at the time of purchase will be eligible for raffle tickets.

The foundation says if purchasers do not receive their tickets by 9 a.m. MST the next day, they’re asked to email resend5050@edmontonoilers.com before 12 p.m. MST and any resend requests after that will not be processed.

Funds from the 50/50 program will be split between the winner and the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, who in turn reinvests or partners with groups making a difference in the community.
