Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we got started with a look at last night’s win over the Los Angeles Kings and how huge it was for the Oilers’ chances of winning the division. At this stage, the Oilers need to keep winning games and probably get some help from other teams to make it happen, but there is a legitimate chance that Edmonton could still take the Pacific. Changing gears, we looked ahead at the upcoming playoff run for the Oilers and whether I had any traditions that need to be upheld as the boys kick off what we hope to be another long run. While there’s nothing that immediately comes to mind, I can readily admit that my body will take more abuse than normal so maybe the tradition will be that I start drinking first thing in the morning to get myself ready. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s appearance with a look at Ryan Nugent-Hopkins’ pursuit of 100 points and how it’s one of the most unexpected seasons we’ve had in quite some time. We also looked at Connor McDavid’s ridiculous season which just gets more outrageous even if his torrid goal scoring pace has slowed down over the last couple of weeks.
