Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we got started with a look at last night’s win over the Philadelphia Flyers and how it was a game the Oilers absolutely needed to have. Led by McDavid and Draisaitl — who hit 800 points and 700 points respectively on the same goal — the Oilers were able to erase what were two very quiet periods with an offensive outburst in the third that powered them to victory. And after losing four straight games, three of them being winnable in my opinion, the boys got the result they needed. We also discussed the Oilers’ struggles in overtime as the club has now lost eight straight games when going to the extra period. Seems odd with the kind of talent they have in their lineup, no? Changing gears, Grant wanted to know whether the Oilers could actually fit Erik Karlsson under the cap somehow, and I tried to explain in the worst possible way that it is doable but unlikely given the gymnastics that would have to occur. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s segment with a look at Evander Kane’s upper-body injury after the forward was listed as day-to-day by the club only weeks after returning from that nasty cut on his wrist.
