Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we got started with a look at the two crazy comebacks the Oilers have had against the Rangers and Panthers, and how this team is going to give us all heart attacks if they keep playing this way. Whether it was the four-goal rally against New York or the buzzer-beater by Evan Bouchard to send the Panthers game to overtime, the Oilers are finding ways to win right now in the most stressful way possible. That led us to talk about tonight’s matchup with the Blackhawks and how even though this is a game the Oilers should win on paper, I’ve been a fan long enough to know better. This is another one of those nights that feels like a trap, and I won’t feel comfortable until I see the Oilers up by at least a goal when the final buzzer sounds. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s appearance with a look at Alex Ovechkin breaking Wayne Gretzky’s road-goal record last night, and whether we think he’ll be able to catch him for the overall goal record. Personally, I think he’s going to get there after years of denying the possibility, but with the way he continues to fill the net, I won’t at all be surprised if he gets there. The guy is an absolute monster.
