Another playoff-less Wednesday is here and that meant it was time for your boy to jump on the radio with the fellas from The Locker Room to discuss all things Edmonton Oilers and life in general. On this week’s appearance, we looked at the nicest hockey player I’ve ever met, upgrading the Oilers’ goaltending, and hate watching the Stanley Cup playoffs.
To kick off this week’s appearance, we jumped in with a look at Dale Hawerchuk’s passing after losing his battle with cancer and what he meant to the entire hockey community, specifically the people of Winnipeg. To say that he was loved would be a massive understatement, to say the least. That brought about a conversation about the friendliest NHLer that I’ve ever met, and I doubt anyone will be overly surprised when they hear my answer. Turning back to the Oilers, I was asked about how Ken Holland is going to be able to upgrade the goaltending heading into next season, and I honestly couldn’t come up with a very good answer. Seeing as the league is facing a flat cap for the foreseeable future, Holland is going to have to get creative when it comes to finding better players throughout his roster. Can it be done? I hope so. Lastly, we looked at the NHL Playoffs and whether or not there are any teams left that I can cheer for now that the Oilers are out.
