Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we got started with a look at the Oilersnation 15th Birthday party that happened on Saturday at the Pint Downtown. From start to finish, that viewing party was spectacular and I wanted to say thank you to everyone that was able to make it out and help us celebrate the day. From there, we looked at Monday’s wild night against the San Jose Sharks and how it was the kind of game that was incredibly stressful given how many goals were going in, but you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone that said it wasn’t entertaining. That said, there was plenty of oddness in that game as goals were getting yanked off the board left and right along with refs making decisions that made little sense to anyone on either side. Next up, we looked at the impact Mattias Ekholm has made since coming over from the Nashville Predators and how he’s been everyone the Oilers could have hoped for and then some. From big goals to steady defending, Ekholm has been a huge addition to Edmonton’s back end and it’s been a lot of fun to watch him settle in so seamlessly. Lastly, we wrapped up his week’s segment with a guess at what’s going to happen with Jack Campbell and specifically whether the Oilers would even consider trying to move on after the season is over. Is that even possible? Who knows.
