Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while offering my takes on anything else that’s happening in the world.
Kicking off this week’s segment, we started with a simple question from Grant: Are the Oilers just a bad hockey team? Given that their 5-11-1 record stinks to high heaven, it’s fair to wonder how the pre-season hype was so incredibly wrong. Personally, I think the Oilers are much better than their current record, but it’s also clear that there are a lot of players battling confidence issues right now. Talking about confidence issues led us to discuss the goaltending situation, as basically every insider in hockey has talked about the Oilers’ search for goaltending help. Over at Daily Faceoff, Frank Seravalli wrote about some of the potential goaltending options Ken Holland may be looking at and how likely they are to happen. One thing is clear, however, and that’s the fact that none of these guys will come cheap. No one is looking to help the Oilers right now, and it will be fascinating to watch how this situation plays out. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s segment with a look at the fight between Mark Spector and Tim Peel that happened on Twitter a couple of days ago. Frankly, I was a little bit surprised by how out of hand things got, but at the same time, I don’t know why given that Twitter is a cesspool at the best of times. That’s the Internet, though, baby!
