Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while offering my takes on anything else that’s happening in the world.
Kicking off this week’s segment, we started with a look at last night’s win over the Vegas Golden Knights. By no means was it the prettiest win we’ll ever see, but you do have to like the way the Oilers found a way to cash in two points anyway. I mean, yeah, it should have been a regulation win and they almost blew it, but the good news is that we’re still talking about a three-game win streak as opposed to a blown opportunity. From there, we looked at Darnell Nurse’s strong play on the blue line and whether or not Paul Coffey’s influence could be paying off already. Sticking with coaching, we looked at Kris Knoblauch’s first couple of weeks with the Oilers and what changes you can notice so far. While it’s difficult to know what exactly is different, there are a few areas — like the penalty kill — that have certainly improved in his time behind the bench. Now the trick will be to see if the improvements can continue. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s appearance with a look at the Corey Perry situation in Chicago and whether having his contract voided by the Blackhawks will be the end of his career.
