Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while offering my takes on anything else that’s happening in the world.
Kicking off this week’s segment, we jumped in with a look at our Season Launch Party that’s happening tonight at Greta and how it’s an event you’ll absolutely want to attend. Not only are we kicking off the season as a crew, but we’ve also got plenty of prizes to give away while we raise some money for KidSport. Basically, what I’m trying to tell you is that you need to grab tickets for tonight’s party and join us. As for the team, we then looked at the Pacific Division and who might be the Oilers’ biggest challenge as the season rolls along. For my money, it’s tough to bet against the defending Cup champs, but teams like the Flames will be better than they were a year ago. What does that mean for the Oilers? I think they’re the best team in the division, but this will not be a cakewalk. Another guy that thinks the Oilers will be good is Connor McDavid. This past week, McDavid said that this Oilers group is the best team he’s played on so far, and I think everyone who pays attention would probably agree with that. Even though we’re not talking about a perfect team, there’s little doubt that Edmonton has all of the tools needed to be a contender. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s appearance with a look at the roster as we tried to figure out which players are in line for a breakout campaign. As you’ll hear, I think two players are in line for significant steps forward. Will I be right? We’ll start finding out some of those answers tonight in Vancouver.
