Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while offering my takes on anything else that’s happening in the world.
Kicking off this week’s segment, we started with a look at the Oilers’ six-day break and whether or not it was a good thing for the team to have this much time off, given how well they were playing beforehand. On the one hand, some guys were a little bit banged up and having a few days to recover was probably a blessing. On the other hand, the team was finally starting to gel, and it’s almost unfortunate that the schedule could mess with the momentum. Changing gears, we dove into the Philip Broberg trade request that came out yesterday, and how there are incredibly mixed messages coming from Ken Holland and the player’s agent. Naturally, the truth lies somewhere in the middle, and it will be fascinating to follow this story along until it reaches some kind of resolve. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s appearance with a look at next week’s McDavid vs. Bedard matchup and how it will easily be one of the most anticipated tickets of the early NHL season. Seeing Chicago on the schedule, however, led Lochlin to wonder whether Oilers fans will be trying to bring up certain rumours that were floating around social media last week. I don’t think so, but of course, stranger things have happened.
