The Bakersfield Condors have named Colin Chaulk interim head coach.
Chaulk, 45, takes over after Jay Woodcroft was promoted to interim head coach of the Edmonton Oilers Thursday. This year was his first with the Condors where he worked primarily with the forward group.
With Dave Manson also being promoted to the Oilers, Condors general manager Keith Gretzky, goaltending coach Sylvain Rodrigue and video coordinator Noah Segall will join Chaulk on the bench.
Chaulk joined the Condors after spending seven years between 2012 and 2019 working in the ECHL as an assistant coach, then later a head coach and vice-president of hockey operations. In 2019-20, he joined the Belleville Senators of the AHL as an assistant coach. After just one year there, he worked as the general manager and head coach of the GTHL’s u16 Mississauga Reps.
As a player, his career spanned 15 years including time in the AHL, IHL, UHL, ECHL, CHL and overseas in Italy.
Chaulk’s number 91 was retired by the ECHL’s Fort Wayne Komets after he ranked third in all-time scoring in the organization’s 70-year history.
