In today’s episode of Better Lait Than Never, I broke down the last week here at the Nation, talked about how much of a difference racking up a few wins can make, and offered my first impressions on Evander Kane. I also welcomed Caroline Szwed to the podcast to talk about the Jasper Pond Hockey tournament, her love of sports, and which grocery items she’s spending too much money on.
Kicking things off, I got the podcast started with a look at the last week here in the Nation and specifically how much brighter it’s been around here since the Oilers started winning again. Unfortunately, that winning streak was also halted by a team they beat nine times last year in the all-Canadian Division — Ottawa’s grudge game compete level was sky high this season — and that means some fans are once again teetering on the edge of losing their minds ahead of tonight’s matchup with the Washington Capitals. However, in the interest of keeping things light, my friends at Arcadia Brewing offered up a contest to keep everyone’s spirits bright so you’ll have to listen in for how you can win one of three prize packs. From there, I welcomed Caroline Szwed to the show to talk about the Jasper Pond Hockey Tournament that just wrapped this past weekend, her love of sports and animals, how she unwinds when times get stressful, and the all-important grocery store purchases that we’ve been talking about for the past few weeks. Lastly, I wrapped up today’s podcast with another round of voicemails that you’ve all been leaving over the last week or so, and once again, you all came through in a big way.
