Welcome back to another edition of the Betway Bets of the Day!
The Bets of the Day are brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
Our first bet of the day will be taking over 5.5 goals between the Detroit Red Wings and New York Islanders. These odds sit at -135.
In terms of pacing, this game is projected to be the highest on tonight’s slate. DailyFaceoff’s DFS charts project virtually all lines from both sides of this game to have some of the best matchups on the night, and that’s a big reason why I love the over in this spot tonight.
The Red Wings are 6-3 to the over this year returning +2.5 units, while the Islanders are 2-5, returning -3.75u. New York gets more credit than they deserve for being a solid defensive hockey club, so I’m willing to bet that record to the over begins to balance out sooner, rather than later.

Our second bet of the day will be taking Reilly Smith to score 1+ point. These odds sit at -118.
Smith has had a strong start to the year in Pittsburgh scoring four goals and six points in eight games. He’s showing he’s meshing well on the Penguins’ second line with Evgeni Malkin, and tonight, that line has one of the best matchups on the slate, according to DailyFaceoff’s DFS charts.
For all the reasons above, we’re going to sprinkle a half unit on Smith to score a goal with those odds sitting at +220.
Record: 18-14 (+1.46u, +4.06 ROI%)
Yesterday: 2-0 (+1.52u, +76 ROI%)
Last 7: 6-6 (-3.06u, -21.86 ROI%)
