Betway Bets of the Day — Betting big on the Oilers and Hurricanes

Welcome back to another edition of the Betway Bets of the Day!

Our first bet of the day will be taking over 6.5 goals between the Edmonton Oilers and Carolina Hurricanes. These odds sit at -150.

We’re talking all the juice tonight, as this over has hit in three straight meetings between these teams, and I expect it to again tonight. Why? First and foremost, both teams have major issues in the crease. The Hurricanes carry a .876 team save percentage, and the Oilers a .880, both below the league average mark of .899.

Secondly, both teams rank within the top 12 of the league in terms of goals for per hour, and top six in expected goals for per hour. Couple that with both teams being in the top six for shot attempts per hour, and you have the making of a game that should shootout with ease.

Our second bet of the day will be taking Zach Hyman or Andrei Svechnikov to score. These odds sit at -167, and will be a two-unit play.

Falling under the “player specials” tab, I love this prop tonight.

Svechnikov loves to score against the Oilers, with seven goals in nine games that included back-to-back hattricks against them early last season. Hyman, meanwhile, has six goals in 15 career games against Carolina, including markers in three straight.
