Welcome back to another edition of the Betway Bets of the Day!
The Bets of the Day are brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
Our first bet of the day is taking Carter Verhaeghe to take over 3.5 shots on goal, with odds at +100.
Verhaeghe has taken 18 shots on goal through the first four games of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Florida Panthers and New York Rangers, cashing this prop in three of those games. He did so in Game 1 in New York, as well as in Games 3 and 4 on home ice, and with the series shifting back to the Big Apple tonight, I like him to cash it again.
He’s been a triggerman so far for the Panthers, with his three goals tied for the team lead this series with Sam Reinhart. He slid up to the top line for Game 4, and looked sharp doing so. Let’s see if he can stay hot tonight.
Our second bet of the day is on Sam Reinhart to be an anytime goal scorer, with odds at +125.
Speaking of staying hot, Reinhart has scored three goals in his last two games, and will look to tickle twine again tonight. He’s had an excellent season for the Panthers, racking up a career-high in goals with 57, and a career-high in points with 94.
He’s had a penchant for scoring against the Rangers, racking up 14 goals in 30 regular season games, including six in the nine games he’s played against them since joining Florida. If the Cats want to push the Rangers to the brink of elimination, they’ll need Reinhart at the top of his game.
Our third bet of the day is on Matthew Tkachuk to be an anytime goalscorer, with odds at +162.
Tkachuk has continued to be electric these playoffs, racking up five goals and 19 points in 15 games, accumulating 6.86 individual expected goals. While he’s shooting the puck lots, he’s actually due for some positive regression in terms of goal scoring, with his shooting percentage at a low 8.93 percent.
Let’s see if that can regress closer to the mean tonight with a goal.
Record: 139-181 (-26.64u)
2022-23 season: 155-149 (+16.82u)
