Welcome back to another edition of the Betway Bets of the Day!
The Bets of the Day are brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
Our first bet of the day is taking Evander Kane to take over 2.5 shots on goal, with odds at -110.
Evander Kane has had a solid playoffs for the Oilers, rebounding well after a disappointing 2022 post-season. He’s fired 43 shots on goal in 16 games, averaging 2.5 per game, cashing this prop in half of the Oilers’ games.
He’s also cashed this prop in two of four games against Dallas, both times being on the road. With the Oilers back in Texas tonight for a pivotal Game 5, let’s see if Kane can keep the shot volume coming.
For our second bet of the day, we’ll sprinkle half a unit on Kane to be an anytime goalscorer, with odds at +250.
Kane has now gone five games without finding the back of the net, with his last goal coming in Game 5 against Vancouver. Through the Oilers’ first four games against Dallas, he’s generated 1.75 individual expected goals, but hasn’t found the back of the net yet. Let’s see if that can start to regress to the mean tonight.
Our third bet of the day is on Zach Hyman to be an anytime goal scorer, with odds at +100.
Speaking of players with fewer goals than expected, Hyman has been a beast this round for the Oilers, scoring two goals on 2.75 individual expected goals. His 13 high-danger scoring chances are five more than the second-place Connor McDavid’s eight, and eight more than the third-placed Kane.
Hyman’s goal-scoring ways this year are well-documented, and I could see him getting on the board with a big goal tonight for the Oilers.
Record: 137-180 (-27.49u)
2022-23 season: 155-149 (+16.82u)
