Condors Schedule

The Bakersfield Condors are going to see plenty of their fellow AHL Pacific Division teams during the 2015-16 season, but the release of the schedule has highlighted a few interesting matchups against new rivals.
First up for the Condors is the home-opener on Friday, Oct. 9 when they host the Grand Rapids Griffins and former Oklahoma City Barons head coach Todd Nelson who joined the Detroit Red Wings organization after a five-year run in the Oilers system. One night later, the Condors will get their first clash against the Ontario Reign, the Los Angeles Kings top affiliate who were the AHL champions last season when they were located in Manchester, New Hampshire.
The Condors will get their first crack at former Edmonton Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins when they take on the San Diego Gulls (Anaheim Ducks) in their road game of the season on Oct. 16.
Elsewhere on the 68-game campaign, the Condors will have a two-game road trip into Winnipeg to play the Manitoba Moose on Nov. 20th and 22nd. The Moose will welcome a visit to California in January and stop off in Bakersfield on the 26th and 29th
The Condors other non-Pacific Division games will come against the Milwaukee Admirals, who are the top farm team of the Nashville Predators. Milwaukee visits Bakersfield on Feb. 5th and the Condors visit the Admirals on April 4th. One night later, the Condors wrap up the regular season in Grand Rapids.
The Condors will get would seem to be their worst road trip of the campaign out of the way early as they’ll play five in a row away from Bakersfield starting Oct. 30th thru Nov. 11th. That trip will consist of two games against the Texas Stars (Dallas Stars), and then back to California to visit Stockton (Calgary Flames), San Jose (San Jose Sharks), and San Diego, but the gap in between the second game in Texas and the trek to Stockton is five days which will certainly allow for a stop home to grab fresh clothes and get in a practice or two.
Bakersfield’s longest home-stand is five games in February when they host San Diego on the 19th, Texas on the 20th, San Antonio (Colorado Avalanche) on the 23rd, San Jose on the 26th, and San Antonio again on the 27th. The Condors have a trio of three-game home-stands including a set around Christmas time when Stockton (Dec. 26), San Diego (Dec. 27) and San Jose (Jan. 2) come to town. That game against the Barracuda is the Condors’ only Sunday home game of the season.
The Condors’ annual Field Trip Day (or Hockey Hooky as it’s known in Canada) comes on Wednesday, Nov. 18 when they host San Jose with a 10:30 a.m. PT start time. The other big celebratory game for the Condors is their yearly Teddy Bear Toss Game which will be Saturday, Nov. 28 with the Stockton Heat preparing to get pelted by flying stuffed animals.
Bakersfield will play their California-based Pacific Division rivals 12 times each plus six games apiece against the two Texas-based squads.
