Connor McDavid is EA Sports’ highest rated player in NHL ’18

6 years agoIf you’re into EA Sports’ NHL franchise and love the Edmonton Oilers then you’ll be happy to learn that Connor McDavid is the top ranked player in this year’s game.
Coming in with a 93 ranking, Connor McDavid lands the top spot as the best digital hockey player in the land of EA Sports. Seeing as most Canadian kids spend big chunks of their lives playing these games, it has to be cool for Connor to be the top ranked player in the latest version of the NHL series.
As someone that used to make himself a player and spend hours trying to be the “league’s” best player, I have to say that I’m always a little bit jealous of the guys that don’t have fake it. Not that EA Sports rankings have anything to do with real life, it has to be a cool moment for McDavid to see his name atop of their yearly rankings.
In his first full season, Connor McDavid tore the league apart with his world-class Speed (96), Puck Control (96), Deking (96) and Offensive Awareness (97). The 2016-17 NHL MVP was the only player to reach 100 points last season and carried the Edmonton Oilers to their first post-season appearance in over a decade. McDavid is a game breaker that you’ll want to have on your team.
With that said, we send out congratulations to Connor for his digital accomplishment that really means nothing but is worth mentioning in these dog days of August. Not only is Connor the belle of the ball in real life, he’s also the digital wizard that everyone will want on their fake team and for that we congratulate him. With the kudos out of the way, I have to admit that talking about non-stories like video game rankings is really starting to get old and that I can’t wait for hockey to come back. It could just be me but I feel like this summer is dragging on for longer than normal even though I know that isn’t the case. I want something real to write about that isn’t just a training update or a video game preview, but that’s the summer news cycle for you.
