Connor McDavid named NHL’s first star of the week

@Edmonton Oilers captain, Connor McDavid, was named the NHL’s first star of the week after putting up seven points in his last three games. Well deserved? Absolutely.

How can you not love watching @Connor McDavid play hockey? After a long summer that was ripe with wonder about whether or not he’d be ready to start the season, Connor hasn’t missed a step. I’ve said this before, but the guy is basically Neo from the Matrix with how he absolutely destroys the NHL like it’s some kind of warm-up league. For most players, putting up seven points (2G, 5A) in three games would be as good as it gets, but for Connor McDavid, a person could make the argument that he’s only just getting started. From clutch goals to mind-bending rushes, the captain is on another level from everyone else in this league and I can’t think of a guy that deserves recognition more than him.

I know that being named the NHL’s first star of the week doesn’t mean anything but it is certainly nice to see that Connor McDavid is being recognized for his work. Congrats, Connor! Well deserved, sir. Here’s to many more.
