Connor McDavid named NHL’s first star of the week
By baggedmilk
4 years agoThis morning, the NHL released their three stars of the week and @Edmonton Oilers captain, @Connor McDavid, led the list at number one after going supernova in the team’s three games played.
Earlier in the season, some folks around these parts were concerned that Connor McDavid wasn’t looking quite right, with the worrying being that he was still battling some of the effects from the torn PCL he suffered at the end of last season. That’s not to say that Connor was playing poorly, he was not whatsoever, but it felt a little bit different, ya know? However, a lot of those fears were squashed this past week after the 22-year-old captain went supernova, scoring 10 points (3G, 7A) in three games played. The highlight of his week, obviously, came against the @Colorado Avalanche when McDavid put up six points (3G, 3A) in what was an absolutely dominating performance.
In 22 games played so far, McDavid has 14 goals and 26 assists for a total of 40 points, trailing only @Leon Draisaitl (16G, 27A = 43 points) for the NHL’s scoring lead. That’s a hell of a line they have there.
