Cornerstone Insurance Presents: The Pray for Playoffs Party

There are few certainties in the life of an Edmonton hockey fan. Before this season, we could always count on the sun coming up, Edmonton winters being long and soul-sucking at times, and the fact that our beloved hockey squadron was likely to miss the playoffs. That was until now… at least we hope.
With hopes of our first playoff run in a decade before us, we decided that it was time to rally the Nation and party like it’s 2006 all over again. With that in mind, we present the very first ever Pray for Playoffs Party as presented by Cornerstone Insurance. Think about that for a minute. This is literally the first time we’ve ever been able to do this in the history of this website. It’s time for citizens everywhere to get involved in the playoff push festivities, something that we’ve never been able to celebrate before now.
So what’s happening?
If there is one thing that the Infinibuild® has taught us over the years it’s how to throw a smasher of a party. Whether you’ve been to a draft party, a season opener party, or any of the other events we’ve thrown over the years you know that we’re down for a good time. This time around, we want to celebrate something a little bit more positive than reaping the fruits of another lost season. This season, we’re partying for a playoff run and, around these parts, these type of events have been few and far between.
Since we’ve spent 10 years following our beloved boys in blue down the rabbit hole of suck, we’re taking this chance to celebrate the changing of the tides. Well… hopefully. You know what I mean. This year, we didn’t want to look forward to another draft party, but instead, celebrate the end of a dark era in Edmonton hockey history. Since we haven’t been this close to the promised land in a decade, we felt that there was no other option but to throw a party in anticipation of the playoffs.
GIMME THE DEETS, GUY
As you probably expected, the Pray for Playoffs party will be happening at the Pint Downtown on Friday, February 24th, with doors opening at 4pm and the hockey game starting at 5pm. Aside from making sure we’re all well hydrated, we’ve got the usual swag bags planned along with raffles, giveaways, and more. I encourage you to start coughing now so that your boss won’t be suspicious when you call in sick.
As always, it wouldn’t be a Nation party without trying to raise as much money as possible for our charity partner, Sport Central. If you’re unfamiliar with their work, Sport Central is a local organization dedicated to making resources available to assist kids in sports in the Edmonton area as well as central and northern Alberta.
