Evander Kane is set to draw back into the Edmonton Oilers lineup Saturday night as the team takes on the Chicago Blackhawks.
Kane’s presence will be a welcome addition to the lineup for the Oilers, who are amid their best run of the season despite a 3-2 OT loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets Wednesday night. Kane missed that game due to court proceedings for his bankruptcy trials.
Kane has appeared in 17 games this season scoring five goals and 13 points. After he suffered his wrist injury in November, he drew back into the lineup for three games ahead of his missed game last Wednesday. Yet to score any points in those three games, Kane fired 13 shots on goal laying 10 hits.
He’s clearly trying to find his rhythm in his game, but it’s promising to see him firing the puck at a nice clip coming back from injury. It’s also reassuring to see him playing in the first place. We all know how serious his injury was, so it’s great to see him drawing back into the lineup.
At practice Friday, Kane skated on the Oilers’ second line alongside Leon Draisaitl and Derek Ryan.
