With so many of us self-distancing at home and wrapped up in our own worlds right now, it’s sometimes easy to forget about the people that are out there working hard to keep is safe and our society moving forward. That’s why former Edmonton Oiler and current Hockey Night in Canada commentator, Craig Simpson, released a message of thanks to all of those on the front lines during this difficult time.

To start off his quick video, Craig Simpson offered a message of thanks to the healthcare workers that are working tireless hours as a means of keeping us all as safe as possible during this pandemic.
“I wanted to take a moment to say a big thank you to all of the healthcare workers and doctors and nurses and healthcare providers across not just Edmonton where we live but across Canada and throughout the world. At a time where so many of us are sitting in our homes and feeling a little bit helpless and useless, not being to do anything and make an impact, it’s people like you that are making a huge impact in our world and helping us get through this pandemic. It’s amazing the stories nightly that come out of emergency rooms across the world of all the incredible efforts of our doctors and nurses and healthcare providers are doing on a daily basis. I know it’s overwhelming and it must be saddening for you and your families to have to deal with this and then try to make it okay back home — we can only imagine. You’re true heroes to all of us.”
He also wanted to thank everyone in the food industry for their endless efforts in keeping stores stocked up and all of us fed, a task that too often went unnoticed before this whole thing started.
“To everyone in the food service business that allow us to keep things going and feed our families as we sit here at home in isolation — you’ve been incredible. I can’t begin to thank you enough. Stay positive, stay strong, and all the best to you.
Finally, Simpson finished his video with a simple message that I think every single one of us can agree on wholeheartedly.
“Without you heroes, this wouldn’t be possible. Thanks.”
