Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
After a big shootout win last night in Los Angeles, the Oilers are looking to wrap up the year in style with a fifth consecutive win overall and second straight win against the Ducks. Back in November, the boys demolished Anaheim by an 8-2 score at Rogers Place, and while I don’t know that we’ll see the same offensive outburst today, I do think we have a very good chance to pick up two points. At 3-7-0 in their last 10 games, the Ducks are struggling to keep the puck out of their own net, and that bodes well for an Oilers offence that is seeing contributions from throughout the lineup. If Edmonton can keep rolling offensively the way they have over the last two weeks, then I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t be heading into the new year with a five-game winning streak in tow. That said, there’s a saying about counting one’s chickens, but I can’t quite remember how that goes.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’m using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Anaheim Ducks.

Player Prop:

Connor McDavid to register 3+ points at +175. My $5 bet would return $13.75.

Easy Money:

Over 61.5 total shots on goal at -118. My $5 bet would return $9.34.

Risky Business:

Edmonton to win every period at +725. My $5 bet would return $41.25.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Edmonton Oilers moneyline and over 5.5 total goals at +100. My $5 bet would return $10.00.

Last Game

What a night last night was. At first, that game certainly didn’t seem like it was going to end up in the Oilers’ favour, but the boys kept battling until they were able to climb back into a tie game and eventually wrestle the win away in the shootout.
Here’s what I bet against the Kings:
  • Evan Bouchard over 2.5 shots on goal at -105. ✅
  • Oilers to put 32+ shots on net at -118.
  • Connor McDavid to register 2+ goals at +600.
  • Over 6.5 total goals and Leon Draisaitl to register 1+ point at -105.
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Ducks.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
