Risky Business: Getting off the naughty list

Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
With only two games left before the Christmas break, the Oilers find themselves on a three-game losing streak that could easily turn into five if they’re not careful. Outside of the game against Tampa Bay, where you could argue the Oilers deserved a better result, the last two nights have been pretty much awful. I don’t know how this team could look unbeatable during their eight-game heater only to play like a hot mess in the following three. Right now, something is just a little bit off. Heading into New Jersey, the boys will need to raise their level of play in almost every way if they want to snap the skid and get back in the win column. If not, it won’t be surprising to see yet another four-game losing streak on the books. Pressure is on, fellas.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’m using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the New Jersey Devils.

Player Prop:

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to register a power play point at +175. My $5 bet would return $13.75.

Easy Money:

Over 61.5 total shots on goal at -125. My $5 bet would return $9.00.

Risky Business:

Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl both to score at +300. My $5 bet would return $20.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Over 6.5 total goals and Leon Draisaitl to register 1+ point. My $5 bet would return $9.76.

RISKY BUSINESS PRESENTED BY BETWAY

Last Game

Pain. Suffering. Another day when my wallet gets lighter. I don’t know why the Oilers hate me when I love them so.
Here’s what I bet against the Islanders:
  • Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to register a power play point at +162.
  • Over 1.5 total power play goals at -118. ✅
  • Leon Draisaitl to register 2+ points at +140.
  • Connor McDavid anytime goal scorer and Edmonton Oilers moneyline at +190.
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Devils.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
