Risky Business: Finish off strong

Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
I can’t even begin to tell you how badly the Oilers needed last night’s win over the New Jersey Devils. Not only did the boys snap their losing streak, but they found a way to make it happen even though things didn’t exactly go all that smoothly. There were bumps in the road, challenges, lead changes, and all of the other ingredients you’d expect in a heartbreaking loss, but the Oilers found a way to collect two points. Looking ahead to tonight’s matchup with the Rangers, the Oilers will need to muster that same level of urgency to keep a very strong New York team at bay. The Rangers shut the Oilers out in their first meeting of the season as we know, and now I’ll be looking for the boys to repay the favour tonight at Madison Square Garden.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’m using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the New York Rangers.

Player Prop:

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins over 2.5 shots on goal at +105. My $5 bet would return $10.25.

Easy Money:

Over 61.5 total shots on goal at -125. My $5 bet would return $9.00.

Risky Business:

Leon Draisaitl to register 2+ points at +140. My $5 bet would return $12.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Edmonton Oilers moneyline and over 5.5 total goals at +210. My $5 bet would return $15.50.

Last Game

That’s more like it! Not only did the Oilers find a way to win a game that looked like it was slipping away from them, but I also cashed in on 3/4 bets to take home a tidy little profit.
Here’s what I bet against the Devils:
  • Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to register a power play point at +175.
  • Over 61.5 total shots on goal at -125. ✅
  • Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl both to score at +300. ✅
  • Over 6.5 total goals and Leon Draisaitl to register 1+ point. ✅
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Rangers.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
