Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
Now that the Oilers won their last three games and getting the kind of goal scoring we’d expect from them, I’m having difficulty figuring out what that means for my game day bets. Do I lean into this mini hot streak to manifest a win? Do I stick with the conservative approach that’s worked reasonably well over the last week? Do I assume Connor McDavid scoring goals in back-to-back games means that he’s officially back? These are the tricky decisions we have to work through, and I was legitimately confused about what I would do today. Toss in the fact that they’re playing an afternoon game, and you’ve got all the makings of a fantastic time or a disastrous implosion. That’s life as an Oilers fan, friends. Let’s get it.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’m using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Player Prop:

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins over 2.5 shots at +120. My $5 bet would return $11.00.

Easy Money:

Oilers over 32 shots at -118. My $5 bet would return $9.25.

Risky Business:

Power play goal and an empty net goal at +250. My $5 bet would return $17.50.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Oilers to win and over 5.5 total goals at +155. My $5 bet would return $12.75.

RISKY BUSINESS PRESENTED BY BETWAY

Last Game

I wouldn’t say that Wednesday’s win was the prettiest you’ll ever see, but the way they finished was about as exciting as it gets. Evander Kane natural hatty to tie it up and eventually win the thing in OT? Electric.
Here’s what I bet against the Kraken:
  • Connor McDavid anytime goal scorer at +105. ✅
  • Over 1.5 total power play goals at -140.
  • Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid to score at +300.
  • Oilers to win and Leon Draisaitl to register 1+ point at -134. ✅
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Lightning.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
