Even though I’ve said countless times already that it blows my mind how bad the Oilers have started this season, the reality is that they’re putting themselves in a hole so deep it may sewer the year. Not to sound dramatic or anything, but we’re only on the 11th game of the year, and the boys are already 18 points back of first place in the Pacific Division. The season isn’t even a month old yet ffs. Even though we’ve seen brutal stretches like this before — the Oilers’ second 10-game segment from last year saw them go 3-7 — it’s hard to find hope in what’s happening right now, as the team looks more like one that’s never played together more so than a Cup contender. Tonight, the Oilers will look to avoid a third straight loss at the hands of the Canucks, and I’d be lying to you if I said I felt at all confident that they’d be able to make that happen. So, what does that mean for my bets for this evening? Caution. Nothing but caution.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’m using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Vancouver Canucks.

Player Prop:

Evan Bouchard over 2.5 shots on goal at -105. My $5 bet would return $9.76.

Easy Money:

Over 62.5 shots on goal at -125. My $5 bet would return $9.00.

Risky Business:

Leon Draisaitl anytime goal scorer at +105. My $5 bet would return $10.25.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Over 6.5 total goals and Connor McDavid registers 1+ point at -134. My $5 bet would return $8.75.

Last Game

The start of the 2023-24 season hurts more than I could have ever imagined. The boys can’t win, can’t score, and can’t seem to get themselves out of it, which is also negatively impacting my betting success. There’s so much pain to go around here that it’s almost unbelievable.
Here’s what I bet against the Predators:
  • Evander Kane over 0.5 assists at +154.
  • Oilers puck line at +135.
  • Leon Draisaitl over 2.5 points at +275.
  • Oilers to win, Leon Draisaitl to score, and over 5.5 total goals at +210.
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Canucks.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
