I’m not going to lie: the Chicago Blackhawks suck, and there’s no good reason that the Oilers should lose to them tonight. Yeah, I know everyone is talking about Connor McDavid squaring off against Connor Bedard for the first time — it will be cool to watch the first generational matchup between the duelling Connors — but what I care more about is that the Oilers walk away with two points. Our boys still have a mighty hill to climb at this stage of the season, and the only way to reach the summit is to keep winning regardless of who the opponent is. So on a night when you’re going up against the 31st place team, you simply have to find a way to come out on top and secure the victory. Anything less would be massively disappointing.

As much as I didn’t like losing 3/4 of my bets, how could you not be pumped about the way the Oilers put the boots to the New Jersey Devils on Sunday afternoon? I mean, I’m a little bit disappointed that I didn’t win any money, but I’m happier about the Oilers won.
