Risky Business: Connor 1 vs. Connor 2

Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
I’m not going to lie: the Chicago Blackhawks suck, and there’s no good reason that the Oilers should lose to them tonight. Yeah, I know everyone is talking about Connor McDavid squaring off against Connor Bedard for the first time — it will be cool to watch the first generational matchup between the duelling Connors — but what I care more about is that the Oilers walk away with two points. Our boys still have a mighty hill to climb at this stage of the season, and the only way to reach the summit is to keep winning regardless of who the opponent is. So on a night when you’re going up against the 31st place team, you simply have to find a way to come out on top and secure the victory. Anything less would be massively disappointing.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’m using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Player Prop:

Evan Bouchard over 2.5 shots at +100. My $5 bet would return $10.00.

Easy Money:

Oilers to get over 32 shots on goal at -110. My $5 bet would return $9.54.

Risky Business:

Connor McDavid to score 2+ goals at +450. My $5 bet would return $27.50.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Oilers to win and over 6.5 total goals at +105. My $5 bet would return $10.25.

Last Game

As much as I didn’t like losing 3/4 of my bets, how could you not be pumped about the way the Oilers put the boots to the New Jersey Devils on Sunday afternoon? I mean, I’m a little bit disappointed that I didn’t win any money, but I’m happier about the Oilers won.
Here’s what I bet against the Devils:
  • Connor McDavid to score at +120. ✅
  • Over 63.5 total shots at -116.
  • Connor McDavid to register 3+ points at +200.
  • Over 6.5 total goals and Leon Draisaitl to register 2+ points.
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Blackhawks.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
