Risky Business: The Oilers need to find a way

When I agreed to do a game day betting article again this season, I assumed there would be days when betting on the Oilers would be fun. Outside of the first game against Nashville and the Heritage Classic, the boys have been so inconsistent that it’s nearly impossible to predict what’s about to happen outside of a healthy dose of pain. Obviously, when everyone and their dog labels you as a Cup contender, starting the season a 2-6-1 is about as bad as it gets, and I’m struggling to maintain positivity that we’ll be able to turn the year around. That said, I’m no quitter. Even though there’s no reason to feel confident, I believe that a date with the Nashville Predators is the prescription we need right now, and I’ll be betting with my heart to manifest the result we want.

Evander Kane over 0.5 assists at +154. My $5 bet would return $12.70.

Oilers puck line at +135. My $5 bet would return $11.75.

Leon Draisaitl over 2.5 points at +275. My $5 bet would return $18.75.

Oilers to win, Leon Draisaitl to score, and over 5.5 total goals at +210. My $5 bet would return $15.50.

I’m a miserable human being right now, and it certainly doesn’t help that the Oilers’ struggles are directly affecting my bank account. Pain.
