Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
The last time the Oilers played the Flyers, we were handed one of the most disappointing losses of the season. It wasn’t just that they lost the game, but the way they lost had to be as frustrating as we’ve seen in quite some time. If you don’t remember, the Oilers basically slept through that 4-1 loss and didn’t look at all like a team that was supposed to win much of anything. Here on January 2nd, however, Edmonton has really turned its season around, and I’m honestly expecting a much better result than we saw the first time around. That said, there are no gimmes in the National Hockey League and the boys will need to keep playing the way they have been if we have any chance of closing out a sixth straight win.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’m using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Player Prop:

Leon Draisaitl to register 2+ points at +140. My $5 bet would return $12.00.

Easy Money:

Oilers to register 33+ shots on goal at -134. My $5 bet would return $8.75.

Risky Business:

Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl both to score at +300. My $5 bet would return $20.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Oilers moneyline win and over 5.5 total goals at +125. My $5 bet would return $11.25.

Last Game

I couldn’t think of a better possible result than what we got against the Ducks on New Year’s Eve. Not only did the Oilers close out a 7-2 win, which was huge in itself, but I also won 3/4 of my bets and saw a hefty profit as a result. Great success!
Here’s what I bet against the Ducks:
  • Connor McDavid to register 3+ points at +175.
  • Over 61.5 total shots on goal at -118. ✅
  • Edmonton to win every period at +725. ✅
  • Edmonton Oilers moneyline and over 5.5 total goals at +100. ✅
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Flyers.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
