The winning streak has now reached eight games as the Edmonton Oilers beat the Chicago Blackhawks by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday. Below are the highlights from the game.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS ARE PRESENTED BY BETWAY

In the first game ever between 2015 and 2023 first-overall draft picks Connor McDavid and Connor Bedard, it was the rookie who opened the scoring just a few minutes into the first period. Bedard took a pass at Edmonton’s blueline and roofed a shot glove side on Stuart Skinner for his 12th of the year.
The Oilers tied the score at 1-1 in the middle of the first frame when the top line converted for a slick goal. Connor McDavid brought the puck into Chicago’s zone and fed Ryan Nugent-Hopkins who had snuck through alone into the high slot. He deked out Petr Mrazek and buried his sixth goal of the season to put Edmonton on the board.
The Oilers pulled ahead with just under two minutes to go in the first period. Brett Kulak joined the forecheck and tied up a Chicago defender while Derek Ryan grabbed the puck and flipped it out front to Sam Gagner, who buried a quick shot past Mrazek to make the score 2-1.
After a good chunk of the second period had gone by without a goal, the Oilers got a lucky bounce that extended their lead to 3-1. Leon Draisaitl tried to throw a pass across Chicago’s zone and Blackhawks defenceman Nikita Zaitsev deflected the puck into his own net.
A power-play goal from Zach Hyman early in the third period put the game out of reach. Connor McDavid took a pass from Evan Bouchard along the half-wall and feathered the puck into the slot for Hyman who deflected it past Mrazek to give the Oilers a 4-1 lead.
