The Edmonton Oilers are now one win away from sinking the L.A. Kings following a commanding 6-3 win at home in Game 5. Below are the highlights from the game…

GAME HIGHLIGHTS ARE PRESENTED BY BETWAY

The Oilers had a few chances to open the scoring early on and they broke through while Kings winger Carl Grundstrom was in the penalty box for hooking. Evander Kane took a pass from Darnell Nurse and roofed a shot over Joonas Korpisalo…
Just a couple of minutes later, Leon Draisaitl extended Edmonton’s lead to 2-0 with his sixth goal of the series…
The Kings kept themselves in the game as the Oilers looked like they were going to run away early. Evan Bouchard made a breakout pass up the middle, Anze Kopitar picked it off and moved it toward Edmonton’s net, and Alex Iafallo crashed in and buried the puck past Stuart Skinner…
The Oilers restored their two-goal lead a couple of minutes later when the third line clicked to make the score 3-1. Brett Kulak snuck in from the point and Ryan McLeod fed him short-side with a perfect pass that he buried past Korpisalo…
Again the Kings were able to respond. The Oilers weren’t able to break the puck out of their zone and Adrian Kempe snuck in and roofed a shot over Skinner to make the score 3-2…
After half of the second period went by without a goal, the Oilers broke through to extend their lead to 4-2. Cody Ceci fired a shot on goal from the point and Nick Bjugstad got a stick on the puck to deflect it past Korpisalo. The goal was Bjugstad’s first of the playoffs…
Late in the second frame with the Oilers on the power play, Evan Bouchard launched a shot on goal and Zach Hyman managed to deflect the puck off of his face and past Korpisalo to give Edmonton a three-goal lead…
In the third period, the Oilers extended their lead to 6-2. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins brought the puck up ice and dished it off to Nick Bjugstad after getting inside L.A.’s blueline. Bjugstad threw a backhand shot on goal, Zach Hyman crashed the net, and it wound up going in. It looked like Hyman’s goal, but it was later credited to Bjugstad…
The Kings would add one more goal to make the score 6-3 but the Oilers slammed the door the rest of the way and skated away with a commanding victory…
