Connor McDavid scored twice, reaching the 50-goal mark for the first time in his career, but it wasn’t enough as the Boston Bruins beat the Oilers in Edmonton by a score of 3-2 on Monday night. Below are the highlights from the game…

GAME HIGHLIGHTS ARE PRESENTED BY BETWAY

The Oilers opened the scoring just a couple of minutes into the first period. Leon Draisaitl picked up the puck behind Edmonton’s net and fed Connor McDavid at Boston’s blueline and he broke in and sniped a snot past Jeremy Swayman…
That lead didn’t last for very long as the Bruins knotted the score at 1-1 just 13 seconds later. Garnet Hathaway passed the puck out front and Tomas Nosek was able to skate in untouched and he buried an easy goal past Stuart Skinner…
The Bruins scored to give themselves a 2-1 lead in the final five minutes of the first period. Nick Foligno brought the puck into Edmonton’s zone and dropped it off for Charlie Coyle. The Oilers all got caught looking at the puck and Coyle sprung Foligno in alone on a breakaway and he made no mistake…
The Oilers tied the game in the latter part of the second period. Klim Kostin picked up the puck behind Boston’s net and fed McDavid who was alone in the slot. McDavid deked out Swayman and buried his 50th goal of the season…
Shortly before the end of the second period, the Bruins regained their one-goal lead. David Pastrnak threw a shot toward the Oilers’ net and Pavel Zacha poked the puck over Skinner…
Klim Kostin and Vincent Desharnais both took penalties late in the third period that gave the Bruins a 5-on-3 power play but the Oilers still managed to get a couple of good looks. Boston ultimately managed to slam the door and skate away with a 3-2 win.
