TWO (and a half) THOUGHTS

1. Would it be better for Linus Omark to go to OKC for the AHL playoffs or play for Sweden in the World Championships? I think he should go to OKC. If the Barons make the playoffs, they play three games this weekend and need to win two to get in most likely, they could have a long playoff run with Omark and the other four Oilers, O’Marra, Petry, Vande Velde, Hartikainen, and a month or six week playoff run would be better for Omark than eight games at the WHC. There were some rumblings Omark might not be invited anyways, but even if he is I hope the Oilers urge him to go to OKC first.
    
At the start of the season, Ryan Jones had a goal to pot 15 goals and ten assists. He is right at the 25 point mark now, but mentioned he’d like to get to ten assists, and that 20 goals would be a major accomplishment for him. Jones and Eberle both need two goals in the final two games to reach the 20-goal plateau. It would be nice for both if they could get to 20, but the Oilers haven’t had four 20-goal scorers since 2006.
2 1/2. Jordan Eberle was named the 2010 Saskatchewan Male Athlete of the year today. I didn’t get a chance to ask him about it, and I’m curious if he even knew there was such an award. It makes me wonder who you think would be the Alberta Male Athlete of the year for last year? ***Or does it even matter.

Minka Kelly is the daughter of former Aerosmith guitarist, Rick Dufay, but you probably remember her as Lyla Garrity from the TV series Friday Night Lights. 

The lovely Blake Lively currently stars as Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girls. I’m sure you don’t watch the show, but you might now, with the mute button on of course.

She is considered one of Australia’s sexiest women; say hello to Miranda Kerr. Kerr is one of Victoria Secret’s Angels and looks really good in a bikini.

SINGING THE NIGHT AWAY


GAME DAY PREDICTION: After Paul Lorieau belts out his final anthem at Rexall, the place will be jumping and the Oilers will reward their longtime singer with a victory. The Oilers will finally beat the Wild, 4-1.
OBVIOUS GAME DAY PREDICTION: It is the final home game, on a Friday night with nothing on the line. Many of you will watch the first period in your seats and then if you are in the lower bowl, you will spend the remaining two periods down by the bar drinking and watching the game on the flat screens. The most expensive cover charge in Edmonton will be at Rexall tonight. **Don’t forget to bring your "Oiler" dollars because tonight is the last night you can use them.**
NOT-SO-OBVIOUS GAME DAY PREDICTION: In the middle of Lorieau’s final O’Canada he will turn the mic to the crowd and let the crowd sing at the top of your lungs. This is not a surprise, but the camera will pan the crowd and then the Oiler bench and we will see Ryan Jones belting out of national anthem. Jones will be singing with his head slightly tilted back, eyes closed, hair swaying and belting it out really loud. Then the camera will pan to Joey Moss, and Joe will be singing, but he’ll have one eye on Jones wondering if Jones is trying to out do him. Joey then turns up the heat and on Lorieau’s final night, Moss belts out one of his best performances ever. The sections behind the Oilers bench will be talking about Joey’s performance for years to come.
