How you can relive the Edmonton Oilers 1984 and 1988 Stanley Cup Championships, Gretzky’s 50 goals in 39 games

In these times where we long for the game of hockey to return, the NHL has stepped up and given fans a new way to taste history.
Launched on Friday, the NHL released its “pause binge” series — a long list of historical games and significant moments in hockey history.
Among them are two videos of the Oilers 1984 and 1988 Stanley Cup championships. The ’84 cup, of course, was the first in Oilers history and helped to launch the Oilers 80’s dynasty that saw them win five cups in seven years.
The ’84 video features nearly half an hour of content, while the ’88 win is much shorter at only two minutes. As someone who wasn’t alive for any of the Oilers cup wins, I know I’m definitely going to be taking some time to watch these videos.
And not only that one, but another incredible video the NHL has posted. In its entirety, you can go back and watch Wayne Gretzky score five goals against the Philadelphia Flyers to score his 50th goal in 39 games. It’s one record that will likely never be broken, and much like the others, I can’t wait to take a look.
All the videos can be found on the NHL’s website.
