The Edmonton Oilers will be trying to rebound from a disappointing 3-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres when they close out a four-game homestand Tuesday against the Carolina Hurricanes as +100 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Edmonton overcame a 2-0 deficit in Sunday’s clash with the Sabres before coming up short in overtime in what proved to be the team’s fourth loss in five home dates going into Tuesday’s matchup at Rogers Place.

With Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid both being held off the scoresheet in a game for the first time since October 22, the Oilers saw their recent struggles to generate offense extended in Sunday’s loss as -180 home chalk. Edmonton has now averaged just two goals per game during a shaky six-game overall run that has featured just two wins.
The Oilers have also scored just two goals on seven occasions while going 3-3-4 over their past 10 home dates, and now find themselves listed as underdogs on home ice for the first time since picking up a narrow 4-3 win over the Washington Capitals as a +110 wager at online sports betting sites back on October 24.
The current slide has also threatened the Oilers’ hold on top spot in the Pacific standings, as they enter Tuesday night’s action deadlocked at 40 points with the surging Arizona Coyotes in the division. Edmonton has also lost ground on the odds to win the Pacific Division, where it now trails both the Coyotes and the Vegas Golden Knights as a +350 wager.
The Hurricanes open a five-game Western road trip in Edmonton as -120 road chalk after capping a solid weekend with a decisive 6-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild as -155 home favorites. Carolina is heating up at the right time. Its two-game win streak comes on the heels of a dismal 1-3-0 run that featured a pair of losses on the road, and two shutout defeats.
However, goal scoring hasn’t been a problem for the Hurricanes in recent visits to Edmonton, where they have posted two straight victories while outscoring the Oilers by a 12-7 margin in those contests.
