Inside the Nation: Welcome to the Hitchcock era

What a week it’s been at the Nation! On the last episode of Inside the Nation, Dusty was trying to make sense of what was going on with the Edmonton Oilers but certainly couldn’t have seen the Ken Hitchcock hire coming. Was it the right move for the franchise? Can Hitchcock right the ship? Nielson has the answers.
Can you even begin to imagine how Dusty started off this week’s episode of Inside the Nation? Bet you didn’t guess the 2003 Heritage Classic, right? To start things off, Dusty recounted his version of the Heritage Classic, including a story of how he bought blankets from a stranger. To put it lightly, the original Heritage Classic was a very cold day, but it was also a magical day. Up next, Dusty jumped right into the coaching change that took everyone by surprise on Tuesday morning and what it means for the Oilers going forward. Obviously, Ken Hitchcock is the talk of the town right now as the coaching legend came out of retirement to try and save his hometown franchise from falling further into the dark hole of obscurity. Can he do it even with the flawed roster that Peter Chiarelli gave him? Game one of the new era worked out well, and it will be very interesting to see what happens in the next 61.
