Despite playing in the Finnish elite league, Jesse Puljujarvi’s KHL rights have reportedly been traded.
His rights were traded from Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod to SKA St. Petersburg for the rights to San Jose Sharks prospect Alexei Melinchuk, KHL reporter Aivis Kalnins reported Wednesday.
Kalnins reported that SKA is believed to have made a pitch to Puljujarvi despite his current contract with Karpat in the Liiga. Last year, Puljujarvi had interest from Torpedo, but declined to play there before signing with Karpat.
The Liiga regular season will kick off tomorrow for Karpat.
