The Edmonton Oilers will be looking to rebound from Monday night’s loss to the Vegas Golden Knights when they host the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday night as -150 betting favourites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Edmonton blew a 2-1 third-period lead on its way to a 3-2 overtime loss to the Golden Knights as a -115 wager, but has still managed to earn at least a point in 12 of 16 outings going into Wednesday night’s matchup at Rogers Place.

The Oilers’ lengthy run of consistency has played a key role in their continued presence near the top of the Pacific Division standings. While the team lost ground with Monday’s loss to Vegas they maintain a grip on second place in the division, just three points back of the Golden Knights with a game in hand. However, the Oilers continue to lag on the odds to win the division; while Vegas has rocketed to a -250 favourite, Edmonton remains stalled as a +300 wager at betting sites.
A favourable schedule leaves the Oilers positioned to pad their record down the stretch, at least on paper, with eight of their final 12 contests coming on home ice. However, Edmonton has struggled to capitalize on home-ice advantage in recent weeks, picking up the win in just two of its past five dates at Rogers Place, and in just five of its past 10 such outings, according to the OddsShark NHL Database.
Oilers shooters have failed to score consistently in recent home games, averaging just 2.6 goals per game over their past five outings. That has left the goaltending tandem of Mikko Koskinen and Mike Smith to pick up the slack, limiting opponents to two or fewer goals in six of the team’s past 10 home games, including a 3-2 victory over the Jets on February 29.
That win marked only the Oilers’ second victory over Winnipeg in eight meetings since December 2016, a run that has featured just one win in four dates in Edmonton. Indeed, the Oilers could have their hands full against a Jets team that rides a three-game win streak into Edmonton on Wednesday looking to remain in the Western playoff picture.
The Jets are coming off a 4-2 victory over Arizona as -130 home chalk on Monday, and have outgunned opponents by a 16-6 margin during their current 4-1-0 run. However, Winnipeg has struggled on the road of late, scoring just eight total goals in four straight losses, with three of those defeats coming by just a single goal.
