Luke Gazdic: “I loved every second in Oil Country”

You remember Luke Gazdic. Surely you do.
The tough guy enforcer was brought into Edmonton in 2013 after being claimed off waivers and made the Oilers opening night roster. His rookie season saw him drop the mitts 15 times (you can see them all here thanks to our friends at hockeyfights.com) and saw him stick around for two more years.
Well, Gazdic took to Twitter yesterday to give some love to Edmonton.
You’ve got to respect the self-chirp about the discount rack off the top, but it’s super cool to see Gazdic still getting love in Edmonton and not shying away from dishing it back.
He truly was a fan favourite in a city that has adored its enforcers all the way back to the Dave Semenko days of the 1980’s.
Speaking of our friends at hockeyfights, I scrolled back and found some of Gazdic’s top fights from his rookie year in the NHL and boy — did I forget that he could absolutely chuck them.
Here’s a few of his top fights from 2013-14:
Three weeks after Gazdic had knocked out Westgarth, the two squared off once again in a more even bout.
