The fans have voted, and Connor McDavid has been named the Pacific Division captain for this year’s all-star game.
It’s not his fourth time in the all-star game, but it’s his fourth time captaining the division.
One of the league’s top players, McDavid has continued his dominance this season scoring 61 points in 39 games. He’s operating a record-setting clip for himself this year and is on pace for 128 points — a number that would top his previous best of 116 points.
Alongside McDavid as captains are: Boston Bruins RW David Pastranak representing the Atlantic Divison, Colorado Avalanche C Nathan MacKinnon representing the Central Division, and Washington Captials LW Alexander Ovechkin representing the Metropolitan Division.
All the captains were voted on by the vans in a vote that ran between Nov. 30 and Dec. 20. The remaining players will be determined by the NHL’s Hockey Operations Department, and I’m sure we’ll see Leon Draisaitl accompanying Draisaitl to the game.
This year’s all-star weekend will take place on Jan. 24-25 in St. Louis. Much like last year, the all-star festivities will see a skills competition on Friday the 24th, followed by a three-game, 3-on-3 tournament on Saturday.
